Clevelands Country House is a restored Victorian country house dating from the 1870s, offering generous space and a relaxed setting for multi-generational family holidays, group stays and shared celebrations on the Isle of Wight. The house is designed for spending time together, with a spacious living area for relaxed evenings and a country kitchen suited to sociable meal preparation. The layout works well for larger groups, while still providing quieter corners to unwind. For added flexibility, two one-bedroom apartments within the grounds can be arranged separately, ideal for grandparents, adult children or guests who value extra privacy while staying close. Open year-round, Clevelands suits all seasons, from summer dining on the terrace and coastal walks to quieter winter breaks and festive Christmas or New Year stays. Interiors are thoughtfully furnished for comfort rather than formality. As a historic Victorian home, the house has character and a few quirks, which are shared in our Home Truths so guests can book with confidence.

Absolutely stunning. The bedrooms were lovely and big, the house was very homely and practical. Gorgeous views, we would definitely stay there again. The communication was fantastic, helped us with the ferry booking, they couldn’t have make it easier.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this house! The home is equipped with all the necessary amenities, including modern appliances, and it was warm and incredibly comfortable. The spacious rooms made our stay even more enjoyable, providing plenty of space to relax. The location is perfect—close to all the major attractions, which made exploring the area so convenient. Maria was incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to assist and ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality truly made us feel at home. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cosy, convenient, and enjoyable stay.

The accommodation was clean and tidy and very peaceful. Everything you need for a stay of any length. Coffee, sugar etc supplied. Nice touch as not normal for airbnbs I have previously stayed at. Perfect for what we needed.

Further afield, discover dramatic coastal scenery, historic landmarks, charming villages and independent food producers. Family attractions, heritage sites and outdoor activities are all within easy reach, making it easy to balance days out with slower moments closer to home. After a day exploring, return to Clevelands for BBQ evenings on the terrace, relaxed time together, or cosy nights under dark, starry skies. We’re always happy to share local tips, dining recommendations and route ideas to help you make the most of your stay.
Home truths
Home truths – a few friendly notes Clevelands is accessed via a rural, unmade country lane, typical of the countryside setting. We recommend taking it slowly and being mindful of potholes and occasional wildlife. The driveway and lawn are shared with our other on-site holiday homes, and our resident chickens may wander through the grounds. The house is a characterful Victorian home with original features and an individual layout. One bedroom is accessed via another, creating a family-suite arrangement that works particularly well for families but may not suit groups wanting fully separate rooms. The dining room does not have a window, but it is cosy, atmospheric and well suited to relaxed, sociable meals. We prefer to be upfront so guests can decide before booking whether our beautiful Victorian house is the right fit for them.

Booked guests only Only guests named on the booking may be onsite. This includes no additional day visitors. CCTV For everyone’s security, CCTV operates on the driveway and wheelie bin area only. Caring for the house Please leave the house as you found it: wash dishes, wipe kitchen surfaces, dispose of rubbish correctly and give the house a general tidy before departure. Used nappies should be placed in the nappy sacks provided. Breakages Accidents happen — please let us know as soon as possible. We don’t worry about the occasional glass or piece of crockery, but appreciate being informed. Outdoor areas Please enjoy the private terrace, BBQ (charcoal provided) and outdoor games. Children should be supervised at all times, especially around the chickens. Parking Parking is available for up to three cars. Please park considerately so no one is blocked in. Wi-Fi & Smart TV High-speed Wi-Fi is provided. Please avoid illegal downloading or streaming and remember to sign out of personal accounts before departure. Safety Please lock doors and windows when out and do not tamper with smoke alarms or safety equipment. Electric vehicles EV charging is not available at the property. Plumbing This is a Victorian drainage system — please follow the three Ps only: paper, poo and pee. No wipes or sanitary items, even if labelled flushable. Most of all, relax and enjoy your stay.
